The mixed text result was the biggest gap. Turnitin scored the mixed sample at 62% AI, while FinalScanPro only flagged 2 out of 34 sentences. Mixed writing needs nuance, but this looks like under-detection.

The TwainGPT-humanized result passed FinalScanPro with 0/21 sentences flagged as AI. Turnitin scored the same TwainGPT-humanized sample at 0% AI.

Overall, FinalScanPro is not a bad free checker. It is fast, it avoided a false positive on human writing, and it caught some obvious AI sentences. But based on this test, it is not accurate enough to be treated like a true Turnitin alternative.

AI Humanizer Test Results

FinalScanPro also offers a free AI humanizer. The tool is simple: paste text, click the humanize button, and review the output.

We tested it with text that was 100% AI-generated, then checked the rewritten output across several AI detectors.

The rewritten text was still detected as 100% AI by GPTZero, ZeroGPT, QuillBot, and Copyleaks. FinalScanPro's own detector also flagged 12 out of 12 sentences as AI.

The meaning was actually preserved pretty well. That was not the main issue.
